You’d be surprised by how many things can go wrong with potting soil. Mold, bits of trash, weird smells, and even bugs have been lurking in various brands I’ve purchased over the years, but I’ve never had any issues with Miracle Gro. Some users report fungus gnats in the brand’s organic mixes, but I’ve bought this exact bag and haven’t experienced this problem. It contains 16 quarts of dirt, which is enough for a couple of pots, depending on their size. It also comes pre-inoculated with slow-release fertilizer, which should be enough to get you through the rest of the growing season. This is about $3 less than the exact same bag at Home Depot or Lowe’s, so if you were going to buy it anyway, you may as well save yourself a few bucks and a physical trip to the store.
